Trend Filter (False/True)

Trend Filters: filter the trend, so ARYA can only identify trade opportunities in the right direction.

  • Moving Average: ARYA will only identify entry positions above the MA line in a BUY trade or below the MA line in a SELL trade. Define the MA based on the number of periods you input in the Trend Filter Value field and based on the UT you define in Trend Filter Time Frame. Choose ‘Current’, and the UT you are viewing will the one in which the MA is calculated. Or choose from any of the other UTs, and the MA will be calculated there.

Example: If entering a BUY trade and 20 was inputted into the Trend Filter Value, ARYA will only identify BUY opportunities above the Moving Average line which was calculated over 20 periods.

  • Pivot Point: ARYA will only identify entry positions above the Pivot Point in a BUY trade or below the Pivot Point in a SELL trade.
  • Dual: ARYA will only identify entry positions above the Moving Average and Pivot Point in a BUY trade or below both filters in a SELL trade.
  • Ichimoku: ARYA will only identify entry positions when the market price is above the Ichimoku cloud in a BUY trade or below the cloud in a SELL trade.
  • RSI: The Relative Strength index indicates overbought and oversold areas of the price movement. ARYA will identify BUY opportunities when the RSI value is above the value set in the Trend Filter Value field and SELL when the RSI value is below the set Trend Filter Value. Enter > < symbols in Trend Filter Value to define the direction for your filter.

Trend Filter Time Frame: The default setting is ‘Current’ which will activate the trend filter on the chart you are viewing but you can choose any other UT. Example: If you choose the Pivot Point filter while viewing an M30 chart, and H1 is selected in Trend Filter Time Frame, ARYA can only look for entry positions based on Pivot Points in H1.

Trend Filter Value: Enter a value here when using the Moving Average, RSI and Dual trend filters.
